TJ's cake smash

I've been lucky enough to follow along with this little guy.  I took his pictures as a newborn, and later in his baby blessing clothes.  I can't believe it was time for a cake smash already!  He has the most adorable, blue eyes, and the most squishable legs.  He's always been a happy baby, but Mom mentioned that he didn't like getting his toes dirty at the beach.  And as soon as the frosting got on his toes, he decided this cake wasn't worth it after all!  As I told mom, though, the best part of a cake smash is that it is all about personality. Whether the child is happy to tear the cake apart, too timid to eat more than a bite, or sad about the frosting on his toes, it is a fun representation of the life of a one year old.  Cake smashes are my favorite!

J. baptism pictures

Two baptism boys in a row!  This mom felt really badly, because he had actually been baptized a while ago, and she just hadn't scheduled a session yet.  We saw the weather getting cold quickly and booked a session the next day.  She also had a triptych that her previous photographer had done for the older kids, and I was more than happy to make him his own version to match.

C. baptism pictures

I love it when the timing works out.  This mom called me and apologetically asked if we could take the pictures that day- and it worked out perfectly!  Baptism sessions are typically a half session, because taking pictures of just one person (who thinks it is awesome they get their own special treatment) goes very quickly.  It's great to be eight!

O. family pictures

Every year this mom would ask me to take pictures of just the kids in their Easter clothes.  They have some adorable kids!  I always joked with her that we needed to do true family pictures with Mom and Dad, too, and I'm glad she took me up on that.  We had a great evening up American Fork canyon!

A. family pictures

I love this family!  She told me that she had always wanted to have pictures taken at Aspen Grove sometime, and it really is a great spot.  We were a little sad that the aspen trees had already fallen, but the lovely, yellow field in front of the mountains more than made up for it.  I'm just so glad it didn't rain on us!

S. Family Pictures

I was so excited this mom contacted me, because we hadn't seen these cousins in a while.  I was worried that our session would be too early in the evening, but the clouds and the shady little park were just perfect!  And I've never seen such calm and obedient little guys.  It was so much fun to take pictures of a family that loved laughing together so much!

B. Family pictures

I love this little family!  She wanted something a bit different than the fall colors in the canyon from last time, so we went with my favorite beach spot.  We were hoping to beat the sunshine that morning, but didn't quite make it.  We got some great shots, though!  And I had a lot of fun chasing down this little wanderer, who wasn't too keen on staying still for more than a few seconds at a time.

C. Family pictures

This was the biggest family session I have ever done!  Not because of the number of people, but the length of the session.  Mom LOVES family pictures, so we wanted to make sure that we got plenty of great pictures for her to choose from.  I was worried about the kids getting pretty sick of me, but a couple of them actually took a while to warm up to the process, so we turned out just right.  And I couldn't believe what a beautiful day in the mountains we had!  The weather was just gorgeous.  The site was swarmed with people, but that never phases me at all.  I know how to make all of that disappear!
